Cabernet Sauvignon – 2018; Blackmon Wines; Mason, Texas

As one of the first wine releases, it is an extra special treat to feature this fine crafted wine. Sourced from the Blackmon Ranch Vineyard of the Texas Hill Country AVA, this hand crafted jewel will reflect the essence of everything that is great about the Hickory Sandstone formation and then some. A good 90-minute decant should do well for starting your sipping experience. Upon the initial swirls, you should get some good cherry on the nose to entice your wine senses. Follow that up with some notes of white pepper and a little bit of blackberry. Ironically, the finish comes across a bit young, but that’s a good thing as time should unfold an even more dynamic experience. Try now if you must, however, you should be more the amply rewarded to wait a few more years. Cheers!
