Once lost and now found, this “old” bottle of Texas Cab still packs some amazing aromas and flavors. A good 90-minute decanting will enhance the best this vintage has to offer. It is heavy on the blackberry with some cherry and raisin. The tannins have softened some. A hard-core Cabernet fan may even find this one smooth. You will enjoy the finish with notes of tobacco with a touch of leather. Sure, some dustiness too, but that just adds another layer of character to this lovely aged red wine. This wine is big and pairs nicely with a good quality aged steak. Much life is still left in this special vintage and we think it could go on easily for another decade. Stay tuned here in 2030 and we shall find out. Cheers!
Wine Of The Moment is just that. A moment of trying out a new bottle of wine and sharing our thoughts and impressions. There is no planned wine bottle that is to be opened or set time that it will be tasted. It is what ever just happens to be opened...for the moment. On occasion, we may also post our feedback on new wineries that we have visited as well as unique cheeses. So, pull up your own plate of cheese, crackers, and fruit and enjoy these discussions.
