Named
in honor of Lou Adah Wells, who dedicated so much of her life to preserving the
rich history of Hoover Valley, this remarkable white wine equally expresses both
a wealth of rich aromatics and palate pleasing flavors. Grown in the Texas Hill
Country AVA, this magical blend of Marsanne/Roussanne is loaded with a
beautiful bouquet dappled with lemon zest, some lovely apricot and ripe apples.
The excitement only continues with a bit
of jasmine and subtle almond notes that meld with the fruit in every sip. There
is just the right amount of minerality in this white wine jewel to help
compliment that full A to Z wine tasting experience. Cheers to Lou!
Wine Of The Moment is just that. A moment of trying out a new bottle of wine and sharing our thoughts and impressions. There is no planned wine bottle that is to be opened or set time that it will be tasted. It is what ever just happens to be opened...for the moment. On occasion, we may also post our feedback on new wineries that we have visited as well as unique cheeses. So, pull up your own plate of cheese, crackers, and fruit and enjoy these discussions.

Touriga Nacional Rosé – 2022; Robert Clay Vineyards; Mason, Texas
When you see
precise measurements on the wine label (90.424%
Touriga Nacional, 9.576% Barbera), you realize that attention to detail
and quality is very important for the winemaker. This estate grown Rosé from
the Hickory Sands of Mason County is just spectacular. Aged 10 months in
neutral oak, this pale pink delight expresses both ripe strawberries and
raspberries to entice you into that Rosé all day mood. Plus, there are the well
balanced minerality, acids and tannins to add to that “ahh” moment one should
anticipate with every sip. The dry finish is the best part,
but come to think of it, maybe sip and repeat is even better. A truly
delightful sipper. Enjoy!
