Paris Vineyards – Paris, Texas

This local and family operated winery and vineyard has the distinction of being the first for Lamar County.  Located in the middle of the Red River Valley, this place is making some fine hand crafted wines.  They have a very fine selection of reds, including an award winning Tempranillo.  The Cabernet Sauvignon is a keeper for your wine cellar and will only get better with age.  Both sweet and dry Blanc du Bois wines are available for tasting.  The tasting room is located in the downtown square of Paris.   The owners are great to chat with and give service with a genuine smile.  This makes the trip to Paris worth the long journey! Come on, you know you’ve always dreamed of sipping wine in Paris…so stop in and enjoy!

Moscato D’Asti – 2006; Dezzani Winery; Asti, Italy

This “bubbly” wine is light, gently fizzy and very crisp to the pallet with a clean finish.  It has fragrances of citrus and honey.  It is low in alcohol and sweet, buy not syrupy sweet.  It is like a slightly effervescent cousin of a true Asti Spumante, only delightfully sweet and fruitful.  If you’re looking for a not-so-typical Moscato, then this is a light and refreshing alternative to peak your interest.  It pairs nicely with slightly spicy dishes, with brunch, and also stands on its own to be enjoyed as a nice after dinner wine. Enjoy!

Fragaria (Strawberry) – Barking Rocks Winery, Granbury, Texas

This sweet, crisp, delightful wine is a pleasure to serve to all your friends and family.  You can really taste the full essence of strawberries in this wine.  Though this is a sweet wine, it is not syrupy sweet, and the berry taste is so clear, it literally tastes like you have just bitten into a strawberry. This wine has a very clean and beautiful finish. We highly recommend this one as a dessert wine, or to be served at brunch.  Love this so much; we believe it is simply the best Strawberry wine in Texas.
