Brunello di Montalcino – 2008; Andreucci Wines; Fredericksburg, Texas

Who does not like a great Tuscany wine?  If you have had one from the Brunello di Montalcino region, then you know you have had a top-notch wine from one of Italy’s finest appellations.  We picked up this bottle at the Andreucci tasting room in Fredericksburg, Texas. The fact that we got to taste it was perhaps a miracle in of itself. Nevertheless, greatness has been bestowed upon this wine.  The visual appeal of the ruby rich colored pour is just the beginning. You will be overwhelmed and seduced by the notes of intense wild fruit, blackberries, and plums.  Just wait for the subtle touch of pepper to kick in soon after and you will be quite pleased with this full-bodied beauty. Enjoy the tobacco notes as you round out the finish. Only twelve years old and still young. One can give this bottle another 10-15 years to really unfold. A red sauced pasta pairing is nice complement to this beautiful and stunning wine! Cin Cin!
