Clocking in at 14.9 ABV, this left bank Bordeaux style wine
is drinking very well right now. Sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA, this
blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Merlot was aged for almost three
years. The initial pour reveals a moderate
ruby hue and instantly fills the air with deep, dark fruit aromas. Swirl
if you wish, but that first taste will ignite your
palate with raspberry notes, hints of coffee bean, and traces of blueberry.
You may also notice a touch of spice,
subtle leathery undertones, and a faint of toastiness. Let’s place this
mighty red beast at medium plus with good acidity. That velvety finish feel is
a showstopper for sure! The 2019 vintage is showing to be an outstanding one, a
very rich and smooth wine to savor all day - Viva la left bank!
Wine Of The Moment is just that. A moment of trying out a new bottle of wine and sharing our thoughts and impressions. There is no planned wine bottle that is to be opened or set time that it will be tasted. It is what ever just happens to be opened...for the moment. On occasion, we may also post our feedback on new wineries that we have visited as well as unique cheeses. So, pull up your own plate of cheese, crackers, and fruit and enjoy these discussions.
