Mourvèdre – 2017; William Chris Vineyards; Hye, Texas

Mark this one down as another shining star of Texas 2017 vintage. Sourced from Lost Draw Vineyards, this red wine just might mark the high point of Mourvèdre from William Chris Vineyards. Ironically, it looks like a Zinfandel when pouring but don’t let that fool you. The aromas of big black cherries and blackberries really come out to greet you with this beast.  Flavors of plums and raspberries also fill your mouth full of joy for this light bodied red wine. There is a bit of leather and smokiness to it, as well.  This release should make a Mourvèdre lover out of you if you have not already jumped on that bandwagon.  Cheers!
