Barbera – 2017; Slate Mill Wine Collective; Fredericksburg, Texas

A good Barbera in the evening can certainly make the day much better. This Texas High Plains sourced fruit has a semi translucent plum color and a great nose of tobacco and pepper. It might seem “hot” at first, but just give it some time to settle down for a bit, as it is very enjoyable. This medium bodied red wine does pack big rich cherries and ripe plum notes. The tannins are moderate for this jewel. You will really want to go all out for a great dish to pair with this one. Cin Cin!
