TX RD – 2017; Calais Winery; Hye, Texas

Behold, this big and bold Rive Droite is clocking in at 15.4 abv! Fruit was sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA for this Texas take on a Bordeaux style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This one has extra-long legs and pours an enticing ruby red color with a tint of purple.  Notes of dark cherry fruit will reach out and tantalize your wine senses.  Take a few sips and repeat for that added sensation of black pepper and a touch of herbs with coffee.  There is some oak in there as well plus a pinch of nutmeg for good measure. This full-bodied beast has medium acidity and tannins and is also drinking well now. Go all out on a good pairing with this luscious red wine and hold nothing back. You’ll love it!  Santé!
