Sangiovese – 2018; Kuhlman Cellars; Stonewall, Texas

Perfectly well-balanced Sangiovese wines are a jewel to savor! This Newsom Vineyards sourced Brunello clone fruit from the Texas High Plains AVA should be in your top 10 Sangiovese picks. Light red in color, this dry red wine greets you with a touch of tobacco on the nose as you take that initial sip.  That is followed by lush cherries and plums that delight in this great winner for your next Italian style dish.  This Sangiovese is perfectly balanced in tannins, acids, and fruit for this medium bodied wine. There is also a little vanilla on the finish for good measure. As a gold medal winner of the International Women's Wine Competition, it’s no wonder you will keep reminiscing about this wine after the bottle is empty. Simply stunning and we believe our favorite all time Sangiovese yet. So elegant and refined. A true gem. Salute!
